Sports Swag done in Halloween Style!

Lebron has everything. Millions of dollars in endorsement contracts, a potential championship team, really awesome shoes…. and a pumpkin stencil of his face.

Phenomenal Swag did an awesome post about these Cavaliers pumpkin stencils. You can print them out for free (yay, free!) and use them to carve any player you like into your pumpkin. If you’re on a  pumpkin carving spree you can collect the whole team! A little Cavs collection of pumpkin faces- what could be better?

Also check out these other Halloween Schwag items including pumpkin stress balls and Halloween drawstring backpacks.

Happy Halloween!

‘King James’ in your pocket

With basketball season quickly approaching, teams are bringing in the schwag by the truckload. If there are any Cleveland Cavs fans out there, you might remember the great Lebron James Bobble-Head Delivery of ‘04. 10,000 bobble heads resembling ‘King James’ were delivered in an armored truck, guarded by security officers with guns. Now you can pick one up for $20 on Ebay, sans armed officers.

Or better yet - you can start emailing bobbleheads to your friends’ iPhones. For .99 cents you can download and send virtual bobbleheads all over the world. I thought that was a really neat feature. I wonder if you can save the bobblehead as your iPhone background? That way your favorite player would always be looking up to you, happy and nodding, all day long. :)

A little Lebron in your pocket.

Equip Yourself Properly for the Basketball Playoffs

Yes, it’s that time of year again. The NBA playoff games are here! Although they are enjoyable, the playoffs can also be very stressful. Whether you’re a hardcore Cavs fan or just watching for fun, the blatant fouling and deep three-point shots will make any viewer clench their fists at some point during the game. So as your friend is rubbing the latest Lakers victory in your face, why not have a custom basketball stress ball to squeeze out some of your rage?

As for those businesses with any basketball fanatics, wouldn’t it be nice to reward your employees with basketball inflatable seat cushions? Not only will they be reminded that they work for a devoted company, your workers will now be able to sit more comfortably while watching their favorite team.

If you like to spice up the games by betting some money, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have a custom basketball bank handy to collect the cash from your flawless predictions. From stress balls to seat cushions and beyond, there is an abundant amount of custom and promotional sport products to suit the needs of any fan.

Barkley Lines Golf Ball Toward Spectator

After being ridiculed by his peers and the media, Charles Barkley agreed to be instructed by Hank Haney, the world’s top golf instructor, on the Golf Channel’s reality tv series, The Haney Project Charles Barkley, to correct his hitched, “two-stroke” golf swing. Barkley’s revamped swing was on full display at the Regions Charity Classic when he lined a Regions Classic promotional golf ball, toward spectator Tommy Parrish.

Luckily, the clubhouse and a first aid kit were located near Barkley and Parrish on the sixth hole. All we can do now is hope that Barkley’s swing will improve as quickly as Parrish’s welt goes down.

The Madness Ends Tonight

Whether you are a North Carolina or Michigan State fan or if you are still crying over Uconn and Villanova’s losses, you can still get plenty of final four apparel.  With the championship game on tonight I’m sure both UNC and MSU’s team apparel sales are sky rocketing as well.  Even though I wanted Uconn to win another National Championship, I’m definitely interested to see if MSU can beat the odds and win.  Either way make sure to get your final four and championship t-shirts, caps, bags, and whatever else you can think of because I’m sure someone, somewhere is selling them.

Uconn vs Syracuse Schwag

Holy basketball season.  Incase you live under a rock and have no idea what took place during the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournamnet, #23 Syracuse beat #3 Uconn in what might have been one of the best games ever played, with a 6 OT win.  Both teams played their hearts out and its a shame that someone had to lose; however, im sure promotional apparel sales are through the roof for both teams as well as their fan base.  The only way the game could have been any better is if it was the championship game of the final four.  Speaking of, I cant wait to see how they both do during the NCAA tournament.  Maybe if were lucky we’ll see a rematch.

March Madness

With March Madness only two weeks away, its time to get into the basketball zone.  With promotional basketball-related items you can get siked for the start of the most anticipated tournament of the year.   Whether you are rooting for the underdog or the sure thing, wearing your team’s jerseys is one way to support them throughout the next couple of weeks.  Even items like this mini basketball hoop set, can motivate you and your friends to get your own tournament going.

Snoopy Giveaway at Yankee Stadium

This adorable advertising giveaway was given to the first 18,000 fans at Yankee Stadium on September 17, courtesy of MetLife. It’s a promotional plush animal version of Snoopy (also MetLife’s mascot) wearing a mini Yankee jersey. These types of family-friendly giveaways are the perfect schwag to use to draw children and families out to the ballpark.

Warriors Manage Huge Upset in 2007 Playoffs: “We Believe!”

After 13 years without any hope of a playoff birth, the Golden State Warriors squeaked into the eighth slot in 2007, seemingly poised for a beatdown by top-ranked Dallas. But Bay-Area restaurant owner Paul Wong believed, and so did tens of thousands of Warriors fans. Wong designed signs and eventually t-shirts displaying the simple mantra, “We Believe.”

Those who believed showed it with “We Believe” paraphernalia, and the mighty W’s did not disappoint their optimistic fans. Through sheer athleticism, youth, and a powerful run-and-gun offense, the Warriors shocked the Mavericks and took an early lead in the series.

At this juncture, Comcast made a brilliant decision to fund classier versions of the original “We Believe” t-shirt (pictured above right), and handed them out to some 40,000 fans over two home playoff games against Dallas. The Warriors went on to win the series 4-1, and you better believe the fans loved those promotional t-shirts and wore them with pride.

In fact, fans loved them so much that they wore the bright yellow shirts all over the Bay Area for the next year to come, prominently displaying the Comcast logo everywhere they went. T-shirts are a great promotional idea for making sure tons of people notice your brand. The only better sports promotion might be caps/hats, given that fans tend to wear hats almost every day, while those more conscious of hygiene might wash shirts after one use.

ESPN Eye-Ball Promotion

Check out this cool (and kinda gross) promotion created by ESPN to inform media-buyers of the channel’s impressive ratings in Asia. The message that ESPN wanted to convey was that sports fans couldn’t get any closer to the action than by watching ESPN’s comprehensive sports coverage and commentary. To send this message in an “eye-catching” way, ESPN had various sports balls airbrushed to look like human eyeballs. Soccer balls, baseballs, and basketballs were all chosen as part of the campaign (probably because people don’t have football or hockey puck-shaped eyeballs).

On the back of the eye-balls was the ESPN logo and the marketing slogan: “You can’t get any closer than this.” The balls were packaged in PR kits that also had literature detailing ESPN’s ratings and audience demographic in the Asian market. The company reported the successful promotion created a very favorable environment for the subsequent sales process, and media buyers were wholly impressed by the unique item.
