Wilson Tennis Promotion

Now, this is a hard-hitting guerrilla promotion. Wilson’s high-tech nCode tennis rackets tout the advantage of delivering 22 percent more swinging power. To serve the message with muscle, Wilson implanted tennis balls strategically at tennis courts and pro shops to look like they smashed into solid matter with monster force. The impact of this dramatization is very vivid and impressionable…what a campaign!

On a warm summer evening last Saturday, the New York Mets promoted the romance of baseball with the theme “Take Her Out to the Ballgame.” To appeal to female fans they offered a promotional canvas tote, sponsored by Palmer’s Shea Butter on one side and Shea Stadium on the other. The giveaway also included three lotion samples to seed the product. After the game, the spectacle of everyone carrying these bags served to be an amusing co-branding endeavor. I think the loyal ladies of the Mets loved it!

No, these are not Pokémon characters! They are called Fuwa and are the loveable and huggable Official Mascots of the Olympics, each representing the colors of the Five Olympic Rings. The characters are child-friendly and embody the four most popular animals in China, which are the Fish, the Panda, the Tibetan Antelope and the Swallow. The fifth character stands for the mighty Olympic flame. Also, in their headpieces you can see the five elements of nature: the sea, forest, fire, earth and sky.
